Overview

Our nationally recognised 10685NAT Course in Safe Handling of Sharps and Infectious Waste training teaches participants important skills in the identification, assessment and safe removal of sharps and infectious waste. This course is designed for staff in workplaces such as councils, cleaning companies, health organisations and waste collection services. Group Training Only - 8 Participants Minimum

  • Adherence to organisational policies and procedures for the handling of sharps & infectious waste
  • Risk assessment and hazard identification
  • Implementation of control measures
  • Safe removal of sharps and infectious waste
  • Identification of consequences and implications
  • Personal protective equipment and removal equipment usage

6 Hours face-to-face training Or 2 Hours Pre-course Study and 4 Hours face-to-face training

Assessment

This course involves a mixture of written and practical assessment.

Award Issued

On successful completion of this course you will be awarded a statement of attainment. Industry standards recommend that this training should be refreshed every 2 years.
